The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 配乐挺好的，监狱里的那段画面挺喜欢

算牌只是份技能，但电影更多讲的是沉浸过去的痛苦回忆，复仇和救赎。
莫名其妙的故事，人物关系和进展也很莫名，除了一点虐囚的镜头，真是乏善可陈
一位孤寂神秘的男人，一个始终不能遗忘的过去阴影，一种自我毁灭的倾向，连同一个作为背景的有争议的社会议题……它可以是《夜行者》、《你从未在此》、或者导演自己的《出租车司机》，抑或本片。感觉这类电影的成败主要在于一位迷人的主演，在这一点上，本片的主演不负所望。一个天赋异禀的男人之所以能做到抗拒人性不成为一个赌徒，乃是因为他心中有着更大的愤怒和空洞。
加害者与受害者一体的创伤后遗症呈现，可是真的好枯燥好无聊。
说实话，本作卡斯阵容也相当不错：

5.0分，叙事方式以及文本人设的枯燥导致观影感受很无趣。应该有更好的呈现方式。
扑克手的特写，广角长镜头的梦魇，迷茫的自我救赎，对布列松的招魂，施拉德的回光返照。
Schrader donne ici une masterclass de comment filmer le vide en plaçant au centre de son film une figure évidée incarnée majestueusement par un Oscar Isaac glacial au visage presque figé inexpressif. Comme un fantôme du passé traumatisant qui hante le présent, le héro ne cesse d'errer dans des lieux publics impersonnels ambiancés par une mise en scène sèche et sidérante. Conte cruel dans une Amérique sans échappatoire ni rédemption possible.
满心期待想找，看下来跟扑克一点关系没有。 可能还是不够年纪看这种救赎的电影，压抑极了。
诡异迷幻的视觉风格，冰冷的超广角镜头，主角的呢喃，时而出现的呼吸声，一切都是那么的讨人喜欢，只是节奏慢的沉闷了。施拉德笔下的人物都是布满伤疤的，将镜头对准他们的时候就将是他们用得到的伤害去做同等的反击，完成自我的救赎
一开始觉得声音和监狱走廊的拉伸感蛮好的（质地接近升级版的广角麦芽糖？），但后来感觉这些乍看新奇的东西被很多倒胃口的设计拖下水了（比如说那种近似中国城市夜景的灯光秀）…… 在保罗施拉德的作品里比较次等。
没懂到底想讲什么，Oscar真的好daddy🥰才反应过来这是Tye和Oscar第二次搭戏了吧，虽然天启里他俩都没怎么见过
在这个年代看到这种风格的片子，让人感动，节奏缓慢，却又娓娓道来，会讲故事的人，什么时候都可以讲好一个逼近真实的故事。
保羅許瑞德。Oscar Isaac。好看。
3/5，这片就写了能算出牌却预见不到眼前人的命运，感觉牌技大佬这条线没啥卵用啊，科普了那么多赌博方法，我看的一脸冷漠～～～
