The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 内容还比较有现实意义，障眼法使得也还娴熟，不过当真相全部揭开后（不管是片中直接呈现的玩弄歌女还是观众解读出来的走私军火），该逃的逃了、该杀的杀了，刀仙编故事、隐瞒真相的动机反而变得不那么合理了。演员方面科班和非科班的差距也挺明显，陈明昊和喻恩泰的演技相较那几个短视频出身的可以说是全方位的碾压。

剧情方面：太水，主打破案，然后各种bug。另外导演想表达的太多，隐喻已经搞成明喻了，国内拍电影限制多大家都知道，没必要反复强调。
反讽censorship、彩蛋、续集的泛滥，致敬/戏谑闪灵、希区柯克的镜头、弗洛伊德荣格心理学、无间道，关于历史、故事和叙事，观众占据了反身的位置，得以观察故事如何制作故事。

电影有很多形式，这是当中一种，故事原创性很强，表演完成度很高，但视听语言几乎没有存在感，更像一集尽善尽美浓缩精华的综艺——也很好；只是如果后来者不能确信写出如此逻辑严谨的剧本，拜托一定不要模仿拍电影。
