The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 对于游牧生活的诗意书写，摄影配乐都很棒，但女主角的个倾塑造有点模糊不清，她的“在路上”到底是无奈之选还是自我放逐，电影并没有明确表达，如果单就一部探索心灵的公路片来看，还是充满诗意的。

拍这种类型的片子创作者的精神状态真的非常重要呐。如果说在《骑士》中赵婷还有马力克的痕迹，在《无依之地》中，赵婷就是赵婷。一路的自由与浩瀚，与背负的隐痛交融，每个不得已上路的人，见过多少山河，又有多少故事无人倾诉。麦克多蒙德将这一复杂形象刻画得细致入微；这是一首昔日美国开拓精神的挽歌，是对每一个上路人的告慰。
景觀、光線與視聽之美讓我流淚，文本與對白的虛假無力一再將沉浸的我硬生生拉扯出來。
