The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 开头乡间部分诗意盎然，中间部分平白。
贵族文化盛行的时代，乡下的穷小子即使有着出色的才华，被巴黎的大染缸污染后还幻想能够左右逢缘恢复母亲的姓名登上贵族的平台，结果被人出卖失去了一切，最后回到了开始的地方。电影把巴黎社会各色各样的人进行了描绘，历史感很浓厚，虽然时间长了点，但静下心来还是能沉浸其中。
如果读过原著，可能就看不下去。主要展现了19世纪巴黎新闻业的虚假以及人不可能实现阶级跨越。最感动的是贵族夫人从始至终对Lucien的欣赏与爱慕。

2022年4月20日观看。没读过原著，但这片子拍的还不错。
全片几乎完全都是以提琴协奏曲或者交响曲为主的配乐，没有任何“现代感”，虽然这会在某种程度上拉高片子的观影门槛，但无疑，这是很优秀的表现方式。

在电影院两个半小时对训练专注力还是很有效的。依然是上午第一场，和一位老先生五位老太太一起看的。
没看过原著，但电影宛如一部带画面的有声小说，只听旁白就能知道故事惹。
