The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 好感人！剧中女主无奈说出“她只有5岁，她只有5岁”时才知道其实杀死警察的不是她而是只有5岁的妹妹。这是什么样的爱，姐姐把一切都自己扛起，为了妹妹的将来。影片很感人，最后妹妹的拥抱是妹妹已经记起来以往了吗？一切尽在不言中。
最后剧情出现了，当时开枪射杀警长是她年仅五岁的妹妹，她替她做牢二十年。
犯过错的人是否可以给第二次机会，其实要取决于其犯罪本身是否是故意还是无意，个人认为要看情况，需要宽恕、需要和解。
即便是新人立足社会都足够艰难，更别说犯过罪被打上烙印的前科犯重返社会了。女主演技太好。
这样真的对她妹妹好嘛，哪天记忆恢复岂不是全盘皆输。。。布洛克阿姐这情绪代入感很强
反转还是挺令人意外的，怒砸施工现场的Ruth是多么的憋屈啊！
导演想要进行现实主义的表达，但故事逻辑有点问题，女主表演强大。
正常美剧套路，也就那样，公式化的剧本，作为一个"杀警察"的人，大家对待她的态度挺正常的。虽然她觉得自己背负着"莫须有"的罪名，其实也是吃了没文化的亏，小孩杀人，她作为实际监护人是负有同等责任的，她那20年牢没有白坐。
2021英国版《不可饶恕》，至少是第二次翻拍此故事了。此版跟前两版相比，情节设计更紧凑，也更合理；感情的浓度相对要饱满一些，不过在这点上还有精进的空间。尤其是布洛克的演技，简直是浑然天成——跟她以前扮演的角色反差太大，即使如此，相信喜欢她以前角色的人也会喜欢这一款的布洛克。

铺垫的太厚实了，桑德拉的演技日臻完美炉火纯青，飞跃到人生的一个巅峰。竟有点科恩嫂的凌厉。正好把导演的细节演绎的恰到好处，最后那一个拥抱，参透了所有怀疑故事拖沓繁琐的误解，真情无憾，辗转人间……
这么套路的故事讲得挺好了，总是觉得不适，可能是因为这故事的内核还是一个（类似）伟大母亲的牺牲。
都说桑德拉在本片中演得很隐忍很丧很刚，我倒觉得最后跟妹妹的重逢多多少少要流下一两滴眼泪吧？再怎么刚的女子在情感迸发处也是会流眼泪的。
全片压抑，一个挣扎的想要恢复生活的人，被一群不希望她恢复的人拉着回到泥潭。最后结局还有个小反转，人性的光辉最后胜出

大冤+大爱，这是全人类共通的戏剧主题。很感人，桑德拉布洛克的表演很高级，把这份忍辱负重刻画得入木三分，谜底揭开的点也恰到好处，停止在姐妹相拥简直是太明智的选择，干净利落，余音绕梁。
看了剧情简介，以为是警匪/惊悚/剧情片，结果看完之后发现该片其实是一部家庭/亲情为核心元素的剧情片，该片编剧和导演功力深厚，剧情情节曲折，也挺感人，很多人看完后会“泪奔”;本想给五星评价，因为部分情节不合逻辑，结尾还有些伤感，扣掉一星，四星评价;只是本人有情感障碍，它不是我的“菜”，只好放弃，遗憾。
7点5分吧，剧情少有点刻意，再打磨打磨就好了。布洛克演技真不错
整个情节确实是英剧的路子，结尾反转挺意外，但是感觉有点俗，呵呵，结尾也是英剧式的克制。能看得进去。不过现在看西式的普世价值观，总觉得有点虚伪，妹妹才五岁，其实没必要顶罪，对于孩子心理来讲顶不顶罪，没什么区别，她要不记得，不顶罪也没影响，她要记得，顶罪又有什么用，平白分离这么多年，不好意思，剧透了。
