The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 韩国拍黑帮片驾轻就熟，这片拍的有点那味了，起码大的框架结构起来了，奈何这剧情真不禁不起推敲，越往后越是胡编乱造，可以说和热血毫无关系，黑血吧，贴切点。

三星半。摊子铺得很大，人物多但线索少、冲突密但信息量小，差口气儿。
母亲对孩子望子成龙的爱成为一种罪孽。女孩孵化的小鸟为了女孩，褪去羽毛和长喙变成了“人类”，但同时小鸟内心的“恶”也被无限放大，为达目的四处作恶。这不就是那些打着“一切都为你好”爱孩子的旗号，其实更爱自己的故事吗？
简单来说，蛋里的怪物隐喻着女孩负面情绪的显化，最后正常的女孩死了，留给她老妈一个她所期望的变态怪物女儿。题材不错，但是剧情细节刻画表现得比较平庸。
非常老派和稳当的韩国黑帮片，无甚新意，但贵在工整。

完美生活的假象与少女成长的痛苦与好奇，虽然有点不太贴合但还是缝合起来了。只不过孵化这个意向的指代太过明显，简直不能算是隐喻。在这个立意下丧失了恐怖趣味或悬疑元素，观众仿佛也是在配合一场演出。
虎妈教育下的低自信子女境遇，严于律人宽以待己的双标最终造就极端叛逆的人格。个人认为描述儿童心理胜过狗13。
