The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 看的过程中，一直想问自己：为什么看这个？虽然也有启发吧，但是………真的很容易想睡。可能不是我喜欢的类型吧。到最后可以微微一笑。但是会不会太匆匆？机器人被自己灭了？

真实历史事件改编，这种事情在哪个国家都发生过，可惜电影节奏太慢内容也没有理顺，让人抓不住重点难以共情。

导演觉得很有趣，结果观众觉得冗长又无聊。机器人的大白牙真的很恶心。
追忆故友的悼亡片，中段又插入采访段落导向了海啸灾后遇难家属的心理重建，意欲表达对无常命运的感慨及鲜活生命猝然陨落的哀伤，真奈和堇之间朦胧隐晦的百合情愫反倒只是一条很轻很浅的线。猫咪钱包，蓝色衬衫，遇见同频的人才能卸去伪装发现真实自我，摄影机记录下酣睡中的你，那些一同度过的短暂时光是压抑人生里最美好的慰藉。再也等不来的电车，再没机会传达的心意，你我永远隔海相望，幻觉里双唇将贴但未能实现的吻，相处中话到嘴边却不曾捅破的爱，思念与遗憾都随已逝之人长眠于那片蔚蓝汪洋，生命如同经历一场循环，从海中来，也终归大海。导演并没有将两个部分自然地捏合起来，整部电影看上去像一篇缺乏灵气的呆板作文，情绪流露甚至不及首尾两段动画，岸井雪乃与滨边美波对视时泪眼婆娑那一刻突然get到了她的美。
