The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 片子节奏很慢，但讽刺性十足，一个伪君子老板用尽手段把自己的天平工厂做到绝对平衡。
非常爆笑又很让人感动的喜剧、很棒的剧本。前半段笑果非常棒，身份认知和信息获取上的差异使得魏翔老师做出了许多令人捧腹的举动，主动代入杀手角色的表演在我们观众看来非常夸张出格尴尬搞笑。屡次舔刀子、夸张的表演前的清嗓子拍脸等准备工作都非常爆笑。后半段真相逐渐揭露时，魏翔表演儿子、马丽故意贬低他让他逃离危险等片段的真挚感情都令人非常感动。舞台化戏剧化的打光也令人印象深刻。
去看了魏翔沈腾艾伦火之前的小品，魏翔演技这一块确实做得很好。但是这部剧除了魏翔的演技就没什么了
全程没有低级趣味，这一点真是太好了。以此起步，继续加油吧。
今年最对口春节档的电影，全场一起笑氛围感老足了！好久没有这种感觉了，看完一身轻松。喜剧的内核是悲剧，啼笑皆非之外，是小人物摸爬滚打半辈子的辛酸，除了过硬的演技，魏成功身上也有魏翔自己的投射，这个角色简直是为他量身打造的，有笑有泪，不容易啊。人只有默默准备，磨练自己，机会出现时才能抓牢，各行各业都一样，很励志。

Javier Barton饰演了一个伪善且有野心勃勃的老板，但或许是因为太多情节展现了他的困境，所以很长一段时间我们看到的是一个心力交瘁、高情商有耐心的老板，或许是因为现实生活的暴击更为猛烈，真心以为如此一个花那么时间管员工破事，对一个不满辞退员工束手无策、睡了实习生、以及看重能力把嫡系辞退的老板，真的是……好老板
七分吧，当中有致敬《雨中曲》和《荒野大镖客》，一般关于电影的电影，都会让我提升好感。大过年的春节档就是需要这种喜剧片，不搞低俗笑话和屎尿屁。虽然是翻拍，手法也是利用“信息不对等”造成笑料，但是可以认为是国内翻拍电影的优秀本土化范例。魏翔首次担当男一号，整体表现很不错，证明开心麻花离开沈腾，照样可以支楞起来。
因为员工着实也是不靠谱，导致没看出什么黑色幽默的讽刺…
特别为魏翔订制的改编的剧本。真情实感编得用心演得投入，人生如戏。白衣扫射太帅，雨中曲太惊喜，后面那场决裂太棒了，这段一气呵成。
2倍速看的。不知道是不是自己位置的关系，看完的感受居然是这哥们终于这么干了，资本家或者老板从来就不好当。看着工厂外面拉横幅的哥们，我想起的是曹德旺的那个美国工厂纪录片，老无所依的变态杀手老了还是很有魅力啊...
中国版《魔幻时刻》？但愿别拍砸锅了。// 2.9看完，改编的略平庸，不过魏翔的演技是真的好。
搞笑之余也会去思考小人物的生活 歪打误着的人生也是人生
伪善可以作为布兰科的标签，但不应该包含褒贬，中东小哥也阐明了雇佣关系的实质。励精图治造天平，错把兄弟当女婿，巴登也很不容易啊

拿《魔幻时刻》的内核，致敬《喜剧之王》《杀死比尔》《荒野大镖客》《雨中曲》《教父》《天堂电影院》等等经典，夹杂带着东北大碴味的低级笑点，融合做的特别恰当。但剧本仍是开心麻花的一大问题，幕与幕之间的衔接太过生硬，整体走向仍然流于俗套，影片最终立意不明确、模棱两可。
Entertaining，但也略显尴尬。坐在电影院里看的时候，确实希望手边有个快进键。
很真实。过度解读员工待遇写命题作文的大可不必，了解社会背景的话就会知道男主确实尽力了，这就是个普通人类挣扎在日常琐碎中的喜剧
