The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 有种网大的感觉，工业水平确实粗制滥造了，但很多地方还是值得鼓励：小演员的表演很生动自然，一些微表情都很到位，整体保留了郑渊洁的气质，对应试教育提出了辛辣的讽刺和批判。然而今时不同往日，80年代的教育问题未必完全映射出今天的教育行业，但导演和郑老显然都对今天的校园知之甚少。儿童电影不好拍，从花絮和成片来看，我认为导演在技术上还是可圈可点的，但剧组确实肉眼可见的没钱也是真的……
“也不知道怎么道别，书里也没有讲过。” PS：花絮里的道具和拍摄可比现在的某些电视剧用心不止一点点啊。
虽然记不清原著内容了，但是很喜欢鲁西西反抗学校的转变，离谱的规则就是要打破的
对教育的反思也不够。
好看，小孩的世界真好，希望继续把这个系列做下去。
意外的觉得还挺好看的，年代感也很容易引起共鸣。

选择真人演绎，而不是动画片，牺牲了诸多想象力却聚焦了一个小故事。希望能成为系列剧。不过和舒克贝塔或其他动物角色联动的时候，效果如何呢？拭目以待。
所有年纪的都应该看看，不过在现在的情境下，有些东西有点夸张了
老郑的作品当下要影视化必然要削弱几分尖锐，但这些尖锐恰恰是原著里最抓人心的部分。我理解主创们剥去老郑对成人的那些戾气和近妖魔化，但转而将书里的不体面转移到小孩身上相当不高明，想明白这一点后那段考场高光就没任何热血可言。结尾大人们的纷纷转变生硬得像掐点直奔主题，也像是为前面对孩子的冒犯进行补救。
上座率不高，不过仅有的几个小朋友看的很开心，跟着笑，遇到刺激有吸气声。
希望孩子们也能和他们的爸妈一样喜欢老郑 看到希望你能永远开心的时候感动哭了 这真是最真挚的愿望了
真好看！不知道为什么一个童话作品，而且是没看过的书，却看得流了好几次泪。
很幼稚甚至有点儿套路，但是起承转合流畅，故事完整，别的电影为什么连这个也做不到。
非常好看，贴近生活，不浮夸不教条，还有教育意义。陪孩子看的，是很少一部陪孩子看，自己被深深吸引没刷手机且被打动的电影了。
强烈推荐大人带孩子一起看。郑渊洁当年可是一个人撑起一本月刊的神人。

多好的IP 多好的原著 但就是这项目搁在哪个导演手上 哪怕是中国数一数二的优秀导演也很难拍出来 国产儿童类目电影目前真还找不出谁来坐第一把交椅…
应该是第一部在院线上映的皮皮鲁和鲁西西电影吧 感觉迟来了几十年 小女主演技不错 希望有机会看到更多的回忆童年的影片
