On a brisk day in November 1998, a doughy balding Brooklyn computer salesman was supposed to report to prison to begin serving a 17-year sentence. He rented a Ford Taurus. Drove to Queens to turn in the ankle monitor he had been wearing. He took $600 out of an ATM. Headed to JFK airport. And vanished. His name was John Ruffo. The crime he had committed was outlandish. Using forged documents and fake corporate seals, he persuaded banks to loan him $350 million. He invented a nonexistent proposition that he called “Project Star” and he used the money to gamble the millions on the stock market, becoming one of Wall Street’s high-rollers. When the FBI caught wind of his swindle, they set up a sting. At his sentencing, prosecutors made an unthinkable mistake. They agreed to let John Ruffo drive himself to prison. What followed was one of the longest and most challenging manhunts in the history of the U.S. Marshals Service. We discover a man whose life was a hall of mirrors. Secret identities, unlikely affiliations, and bogus companies are uncovered. Was he secretly helping an elite unit of FBI spy-hunters lure Soviet scientists to defect? Did he cut a deal with the mob to help him disappear? Was that him, seated behind home plate at Dodger Stadium? We join the chase as the Marshals try and resolve a case that has baffled and bewildered generations of their colleagues, crossing the globe to ask one pressing question: Have you seen this man?
不说那些神乎其神的东西，纯纯观感上来说就是难看。前面事陀螺得快乐星球，后半段这么好的演员们都没发挥出张力。包括大魔王在内放水空间都不大，这种脸谱化的表演和人物设计真的够够的。服化道另说，但对于陀螺来说也不值得一夸。
陀螺一贯的让我非常舒适的审美，结尾也停在了应该的地方，细节处理和怪异血腥的呈现一如既往地精准。但是不得不说几乎完全翻拍47版让剧情毫无新意，如果不是双A设定刚好碰上了有张力的两个演员就会变成彻底的灾难。
只想特别说鲁妮玛拉真的很美。
这次不志怪反而选择志人的Guillermo del Toro明显不够得心应手，阵容很豪华，故事却没有什么新意，实在想不出翻拍的必要在哪？
就像这部电影里，斯坦的欲望的确帮助他抓住了机会，改变了自己的命运，改善了生活。但是当他太过界时，又被同一种欲望给毁了。这个角色有句台词：当自己过界时才能知道自己过界了。这句话换成我们的老话就是：不撞南墙不回头。资本是好的，但无度的资本呢？另一个问题，人有能力控制好自己的欲望吗？如果能，为什么能？如果不能，为什么不能？
马戏团背景还是黑白粗砺的影像更有时代的味道。
从他喝下酒的那一刹那，失败就从此开始了。我猜的是最后他回到原来的马戏团当了怪人，结果原来的马戏团倒闭了。可是他还是成了别人的geek。
画面巨美，镜头巨好看，故事也凑合，但是…前后半段从哪方面来看都是完全割裂的啊！不过即使如此，我也为魔兔cp加一颗星。我太喜欢这种“干什么都没用最后还是走上宿命的失败”的主角了，大魔王这么解释这一现象：“What happened to you? ”“Life. Life happened to me.”
黑色电影版《行骗天下》，复古哥特版《美国恐怖故事》（第五季还是第几季来着），一点也不creepy，陀螺终于还是拉了。
卡司诈骗哈哈哈哈哈！感觉时长减一个小时就差不多了
故事因为是40年代的底子所以难免有种陈旧感，但亏得导演是陀螺才把它玩出来点新看头。演员阵容强是比较强，但你要说真要从中选出一个最佳(男主女主男配女配什么的)，还真是选不出来，大家似乎都差不多，都只是正常发挥。
美术果然好的非常陀螺，本来以为是反诈骗片，结果最后变成了戒酒片……ps所以为啥不把画画的技能好好运用下…另外好莱坞女星的抗老医美真的有点过了……
前面铺垫有点长，只是为了结局的geek。在后期的blanchett的目的和动力，实在是藏的有点深，塑造的太少了。后面实在是为主角揪心为什么这么甘愿当geek，后来想了想这就是命吧，藏在自己心底的噩梦，一直都或多或少影响着你的一生，决定你的命运。
这么豪华的阵容，成片就这……不知道陀螺是怎么了，能不能回到你拍《水形物语》时的水准啊！电影前半段铺垫的真是太长了，看了一半我甚至还睡了一觉，好在后半段渐入佳境，观感有了质的提升，结尾很不错！
Del Toro réunit tous les éléments indispensables pour rendre hommage au film noir, de la noirceur de l’intrigue à l’éclairage culte en passant par la «femme fatale»,dans 1 décor baroque amplement reconstruit des 40s. Avec le rise and fall de son anti-héros arriviste, le récit prend 1 forme circulaire dans 1 perspective assez prédictive à l’avance, ce qui réduit largement son aspect « suspens». Nightmare Alley reste un film noir esthétiquement abouti et divertissant aux traits freaks/monstrueux, thème de prédilection de son réalisateur.
对原版结局的改动，虽然更加暗黑，但却丢掉了人物。毫无意义的老片新拍，也就有机会竞争一下装修奖。
竟然鲁尼和大魔王没搞姬，那这片子拍出来又有什么意义呢？
前半段马戏团部分有让我想起小时候游乐园里看到过的畸形秀，长大后再也没有了。
值得一看，但要夸真夸不出什么来，中规中矩的良心制作吧，也只能这样说。
7分，摄影、服化道和表演很出色，视觉上非常漂亮，有40年代惊悚片的味道；但抛开技术来看，这就是个白手起家的简单故事
